Hill collapsed on house: 4 killed

An incident took place in Muttalli in which four people were trapped under the rubble after a hill collapsed on a house in Bhatkal of Uttara Kannada district.

Due to torrential rains for the last couple of days, some areas of Uttara Kannada district have been completely submerged and many hills have collapsed.

A house collapsed in Muttalli village of Bhatkal taluk of the district. Lakshmi Narayana Nayak (48), her daughter Lakshmi Nayak (33), son Ananta Narayana Nayak (32) and relative Praveena Balakrishna Nayak (20) who were in the house were the unfortunate dead.

A huge amount of soil fell from the top of the hill. Due to this, four people in the house were trapped under the soil. With the help of firemen and locals, the dead bodies of the four people who were stuck under the mud were immediately reached at the spot.
